Every week, somewhere in India, a publisher closes a deal on a book that will sell ten thousand copies, win one prize, and then sit on a shelf. And every week, somewhere in Mumbai or Hyderabad or Bangalore, a streamer's development executive opens an inbox of eighty pitches and forwards none of them.

The gap between those two rooms is where The Story Ink works.

Founded in 2018 by Sidharth Jain. India's first story company and largest book-to-screen rights house. We have worked with 250+ authors, control screen rights on 500+ books and stories, and have set up 200+ adaptations across 50+ studios and streamers — including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, YRF, Tiger Baby, and the largest theatrical producers in the country.

Our writers' room represents 100+ screenwriters.

In 2026, with Your Book Isn't a Movie Yet, the model evolved: we no longer take on exclusive representation. We advise — through the book, paid consultations, and a curated database the industry scouts from.

The category did not exist in India before 2018. It exists now because we built it.
